The San Antonio area Amateur Radio Fiesta is January 10th, 2009!!!!

Hours are 8:00 am to 2:00 pm.

The NEW location is:
Schertz Knights of Columbus Hall, 509 Schertz Parkway, Schertz, TX 78154

This years Major prize is the Icom 2200 VHF Transceiver and the Grand prize is the Icom 718 HF Transceiver.

The early bird prize is a MFJ 392B Communications Headset!

Admission and table prices below.  Prices are:

Admission $4 in advance or $5 at the door (NOTE: Free admission for children (under age 12)
Dealer Tables $12 each
Flea Market Tables $7 each in advance $8 at door
Tailgate Spaces  $5 each in advance $6 at door
Extra Prize Tickets $1 each or 12 for $10

The San Antonio Radio Club was honored to have the President of ARARM, XE2OZ, Jose Lopez Solis attend the Amateur Radio Fiesta 2008.  ARARM (The Asociacion De Radioaficionados De La Republica Mexicana) is a national organization supporting Amateur Radio in Mexico.

VE Testing

The VE Team reports that four new hams passed their Technicians test! Four others upgraded, three to General and another to Extra. Congratulations!!!

Talk-In and outside activities

KD5YZU, Erik Rabe, Sr provided 40 meter talk-in and checked into nets with his mobile command post and NVIS antenna.

REACT members Lee Besing, N5NTG, Charles Land KC5NKK, and Wade Bolling W5ERX provided 2 Meter talk-in service, along with REACT/ARES member Shane O'Neal NS5D who delivered the San Antonio Red Cross ECRV to the event.
