Field Day 2007

A great time for all!

The San Antonio Radio Club was 3A station at City of Shanvano Park City Hall, 900 Saddlebrook Court, Shavano Park, TX for Field Day 2007.

Everyone operated! If they were new to Field Day and/or HF operations they were encouraged to get on the air.

Logging was by computer. We used the N3FJP’s software and networked three computers. You can download the software at no cost to play with at http://www.n3fjp.com/

Here is the Logging information from W5SC's Field Day 2007 in text format

The club portable shelter worked great for the operating positions.

A BBQ was held Saturday evening.

The Sunday group working other stations and logging for W5SC 3A in South Texas. Everyone was encouraged to get on the radio and work the world. On Sunday Schuylar Crist, KE5VIP brought his Icom 735, Tuner and Power Supply with him. When he asked if he could put it on the air we all said no problem. Five minutes later his radio was on 20 meters and he was woking a station in Alabama. He stayed on the air with the radio until the generators were shut off.

For the sixth year the City of Shavano Park has hosted Field Day for the San Antonio Radio Club. We can not thank the City Officials, Manager and Staff enough for their enthusiastic support for this event over the years.

Power connections are kept off of the ground to keep the rain from getting into them. They stayed high and dry for the duration of Field Day 2007.

We use N3FJP software for logging. As soon as the computer network is setup we will be ready for the 1:00 PM start time. We had paper and pencils on hand if the computers stopped working. The pencils were not needed and the software worked great!
